Whether you never miss an early rise for the Dawn Service, you love cheering along at the parades, or you’re simply after a special ANZAC Day meal with your mates, we’ve got all the best spots to be this ANZAC Day right here.

Dawn Service
For many people, the Dawn Service is an annual ceremony not to be missed. A lot of Australians set their alarm clocks and are out of bed before morning light to watch this moving ceremony and pay their respects to all past and present Diggers.

  • What: The Brisbane Anzac Day Dawn Service 2017
  • Where: The Shrine of Remembrance, Anzac Square, Adelaide Street, Brisbane
  • When: Tuesday 25th April, 4:28am sharp
  • Tips: Arrive early to get a good spot – the best vantage points are along Adelaide Street. You may also like to watch the service on the screens in Anzac Square, King George Square, Post Office Square, or Queen Street Mall.

A combination of appreciation and mourning, silence and cheering, the ANZAC Day parade is always buzzing with people wishing to pay their respects.

  • What: The 2017 Brisbane ANZAC Day Parade
  • Where: Adelaide Street, Brisbane
  • When: Tuesday 25th April, 10am
  • Tips: Arrive early to secure a spot on Adelaide Street for the best view of the parade. There will also be screens at the South Bank Cultural Forecourt, Anzac Square, and Post Office Square.

Eats and Drinks
For some, it’s just not ANZAC Day without enjoying a beer or two with friends and family. And a sausage sizzle doesn’t go astray, either!

  • What: ANZAC Day sausage sizzle and entertainment
  • Where: The Fox Hotel, 71-73 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane
  • When: Tuesday 25th April, open 10am until late.
  • Tips: Try your luck at a game of two-up ring, the ANZAC Day tradition, for a chance to win some cash. And with 50c of every beer sold going to Brisbane Legacy House, we can’t think of a better reason to raise a glass to the ANZACs.

Rich in culture and national pride, Brisbane is brimming with exciting entertainment and activities to take part in on ANZAC Day.

  • What: The Brisbane Symphonic Band Swing Band ANZAC Day performance
  • Where: Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha Road, Toowong
  • When: Tuesday 25th April, 1pm-2pm
  • Tips: There will be poppy making and a sausage sizzle from 11am, so bring the whole family and a picnic blanket and make a day of it!
