Sure, cleaning can be fun with the right playlist and some help from the family. But generally, a day with the vacuum and scrubbing brush isn’t always something we look forward to.
Cut your cleaning time down with these 10 cleaning hacks that will make your life that little bit easier. You’d be surprised by what you can do with some Coca-Cola…

1. Use lemon to remove hard water stains in your bathroom

There’s nothing like some limescale to dull the shine on your bathroom fixtures. From the shower head to the sink tap, say goodbye to pesky hard water stains with a single lemon.
Simply cut it in half and rub over the faucets, leave for 10 minutes, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.

2. Clean your keyboard with a toothbrush

If your dusty old keyboard is making your home office look unclean, use a toothbrush to banish dust and debris (and those toast crumbs!).
The perfect size to get into all those nooks and crannies, take your time to scrub away built-up dust between the keys. Just don’t put it back in your toothbrush holder!

3. Banish oil stains with Coca-Cola

Next time you hit the grocery store, grab yourself some Coca-Cola and prepare to see your garage or carport sparkle!
Oil stains are no match for Coke – just pour onto the stain and leave to do its magic overnight. Rinse with water the following day and watch the stain disappear.

4. Remove water rings with Vaseline

OK, who forgot to use a coaster? If your timber dining or coffee table has been tarnished by a hot cup of coffee or a sweating bottle of beer, don’t panic!
Apply Vaseline to the stain and leave overnight, then wipe away with a clean cloth to reveal a stain-free table.

5. Get the dust off your lamps with a lint roller

Fabric lampshades can be a stylish accent, but they can also be a magnet for household dust. Keep yours dust-free with a lint roller.
Simply roll it all over your lamp shade to pick up any dust and debris.

6. Spot-clean crumbs with sticky tape

Made a mess but don’t want to haul the vacuum cleaner out of the cupboard? If you’ve spilled cookie crumbs on the couch or sugar on the floor, sticky tape is an easy way to pick up spills and keep your surfaces clean between vacuums.

7. Clean air vents with your vacuum cleaner and a butter knife

Forget removing your air vents and wiping them clean. Your vacuum’s soft brush tool will get the job done in no time.
Wrap a damp rag around a butter knife to get into those trickier spots.

8. Remove dust from blinds with a sock

Have you checked the state of your blinds lately? Chances are they’ve accumulated a bit of dust, which can be unsightly and unhealthy.
Banish dust by placing a damp sock on your hand and running over each slat.

9. Clean light fixtures in the dishwasher

Dust and debris and bugs – oh my! If your glass light fixtures are looking a little worse for wear, this quick and easy tip will have them sparkling in no time.
Simply run removable light fixtures through the dishwasher to have them looking as good as new. Make sure you clean your dishwasher regularly with Finish Dishwasher Cleaner

10. Remove dust from fan blades with a pillowcase

Fan blades can collect dust quickly, and the last thing you want is to be scattering dust and particles throughout your home the next time you turn it on.
Remove the build-up from your fan by slipping an old pillowcase over the blades and wiping them clean. The pillowcase will catch the dust, saving your floors.
