You vacuum your floors and change your sheets regularly, but how should you be cleaning your dishwasher?

Take the guesswork out of when to clean dishwasher with these pro tips for a cleaner and healthier home.

When and How to Clean Your Dishwasher

Have you ever taken a good look at what gets trapped in your dishwasher filter and around the door seal after a few weeks of use? Trust us, it isn’t pretty.

Grease and lime scale can build up in the hidden part of your dishwasher, such as the pipes and spray arms. If the spray arms become partially blocked, water can’t flow as efficiently and can hinder the performance of the cleaning process.

How?

Finish Dishwasher Cleaner makes cleaning your dishwasher easy – no scrubbing required. It helps to break down and remove grease and lime scale build-up inside your dishwasher, including hard-to-reach parts like the sprayer arms and pipes.

1. Don’t take off the cap. Instead, peel off the sticker from the top of the Finish Dishwasher Cleaner bottle to reveal the wax plug.
2. Use only in an empty dishwasher.
3. Place the bottle upside down in the lower dish rack with cross bar to prevent cap contact with spray arm, like you would place a plate, keeping the cap closed.
4. Don’t use dishwasher detergent or soap.
5. Close the door and start a dishwashing cycle on the hottest/most intense setting available (minimum 65°C programme).
6. Once the cycle is complete and the dishwasher has turned off, take out the bottle and dispose of it.
7. If there’s heavy build-up, you may need to repeat this process.

Bonus tip: Some dishwasher brands have built-in programs to help! The latest models from Bosch have a machine care setting that pairs perfectly with Finish Dishwasher Cleaner to give your machine the tender treatment it deserves.

We get it: cleaning is never fun. But you can cut your cleaning time down with these clever tricks.
