Who doesn’t like pizza? It’s one of the most loved foods in the world. But you can’t call yourself a true pizza enthusiast until you’ve tried these wood-fired pizzas in Melbourne.

Boss Pizzeria – 25 Cookson St, Camberwell
Fresh local and Italian-imported ingredients? Check. Dough that’s given 24 hours to rise? Check. Hand-built wood-fired oven? Check. Over 40 years’ experience making traditional pizza? Check. What more could you want?
Boss Pizzeria’s impressive range of pizzas has it all, from the classics to the signatures. We recommend the I Say Patata (fior di latte, baked potato, roasted red onion, taleggio, parmigiano, crispy rosemary) for something deliciously different.

Open:

  • Wednesday – Sunday: 5:30pm – 10pm

Postino – 97 Whitehorse Rd, Balwyn
Prepare to feast on traditional Italian fare at this Melbourne must-do. Postino gives you the flavours of Southern Italy in the suburbs, with authentic wood-fired pizza you won’t be able to resist.
Get some Tartufo (truffle cream, mushroom, mozzarella, San Daniele prosciutto D.O.P.) on your plate if you know what’s good for you.

Open:

  • Monday – Thursday: From 5pm
  • Friday – Sunday: From 12pm

La Svolta – 450 Hampton St, Hampton
Get ready to be swept off to Italy without leaving Melbourne. La Svolta is one of just a handful of the pizzerias in Australia that have been awarded the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) Accreditation, by the official association in Naples. This means you can expect your wood-fired pizza to be made the traditional Napoli way.
Everything on the menu is fresh and handmade to perfection, including their wood-fired pizzas. Don’t miss the Amalfi (fior di latte mozzarella, ham, eggplant, basil, parmigiano, sundried tomato and balsamic reduction) for a truly indulgent experience.

Open:

  • Friday – Sunday: Lunch
  • Monday – Sunday: Dinner

Woodstock – 63-67 Lyfon St, Brunswick
Boasting traditional Sicilian Italian food, Woodstock is a must-visit for every serious pizza fan. This Italian family owned and operated pizzeria offers a drool-worthy range of classic wood-fired pizzas, with a few twists for good measure.
With bases made from 100% Italian farmed wheat, we can’t say no to the San Daniele (San Marzano tomatoes D.O.P., mozzarella di bufala D.O.P., thinly sliced prosciutto di Parma aged over 24 months).

Open:

  • Sunday – Thursday: 12pm – 3pm, 5pm – 10:30pm
  • Friday – Saturday: 12pm – 3pm, 5pm – 12am
