Nothing quite satisfies like a delicious, moist, fluffy cake that is bursting with flavour. If cake is your dessert of choice, you need to mark these must-visit venues on your map!
Watermelon, Rose and Strawberry Cake – Black Star Pastry – Sydney CBD
The perfect summer treat, the watermelon, rose and strawberry cake from Black Star Pastry is as refreshing as it is addictive. Indulge in two layers of almond dacquoise, rose-scented fresh cream, watermelon, strawberries, and pistachios, topped off with dried rose petals.
Top Tip: Since all cakes are made to order, this is a craving you’ll have to plan for in advance—as all orders take 2 days to complete. Definitely worth the wait!

Transport your tastebuds straight to Sicily by biting into the baked ricotta cheesecake from Pasticceria Papa. Their baked ricotta cheesecake has become pretty famous throughout the city, as it isn’t overly sweet but manages to maintain a light and rich flavour. Other amazing cakes include the baked ricotta with Nutella, a tiramisu cake, chocolate mud cake and so much more.

Cherry Jam Lamington – Benne-long – Sydney CBD
The most popular dessert on the menu by far, Benne-long’s cherry jam lamington has become one of Sydney’s favourite treats. As you bite into the soft vanilla sponge, you’ll taste coconut cream, cherry jam and chocolate ganache, served with cherry ice-cream coated with a chocolate glaze. The ‘cherry’ on top of this amazing dessert is the coconut parfait, which has been frozen and shaved over liquid nitrogen.
Top Tip: As this restaurant is located at the Opera House, it’s easy to guess these meals will be a little pricey. But if you’re willing to invest in an amazing meal, you won’t regret it!
