With plenty of food festivals and events happening around the state, you’ll want to mark these dates down in your calendar pronto. Pick your favourite wine and take a road trip out to the country, or better yet find an event close by for some delicious cuisine, guaranteed. Check out these awesome foodie festivals happening around Victoria in 2017.
Brown Brothers Wine Blending Experience, Milawa – 2 Jan to 14 June 2017
Love your wine? Then you will certainly love this Brown Brothers wine event, where you can discover some of their classic wines extracted straight from the barrel. Experiment with all kinds of delicious combinations and uncover some new drops you are sure to love. Once you’re done blending, you can even bottle and label your creation to take home! This tour is available Monday to Friday at 3:30pm.

Meeniyan Garlic Festival – 18 February 2017
We all know that garlic is basically the god of all ingredients, instantly making any kitchen smell delicious and inviting. What better way to celebrate the greatness of garlic than at the Meeniyan Garlic Festival in South Gippsland. Here you will be able to enjoy a fun-filled day of food, activities, live entertainment and much more.

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival – 31 March to 9 April 2017
Celebrating 25 years of amazing festivals, the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is not one to skip this year. With so many events being put on by local businesses (more than 250, in fact!) you will be hard-pressed giving everything a go—but you could always try! Enjoy the Blues Tram and Underground Banquet, or enjoy A Journey Through Sardinia, another amazing dinner banquet feast. You’ll find events dotted throughout the city of Melbourne, but if you’re in regional areas, don’t worry! There are also events along the Great Ocean Road, Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, the High Country, Gippsland and Phillip Island.

Rutherglen Winery Walkabout – 10 & 11 June 2017
An annual event, the Rutherglen Winery Walkabout attracts more than 20,000 visitors a year. During this event, you’ll have walkabout glasses and wrist bands to accompany you into the wineries for a day you truly won’t want to miss. Your ticket will grant you access to live music performances, entertainment, tours, wine tastings and lots more! You will also discover many food vans, markets, masterclasses, buffet breakfasts and VIP tasting areas throughout your visit. If you don’t feel up to driving, buy a ticket with shuttlebus entry and you won’t need to worry about a thing!

Weekend Fit for a King Wine & Food Festival, King Valley – 10 June 2017
Showcasing the amazing wine and cuisine from the King Valley, the Weekend Fit for a King festival is sure to please. Discover the region’s Italian heritage while sampling the seasonal homemade food and even better wine. Taste new-release wines, indulge in amazing food and relax while conversing with those from the local community.
